Opening a Port so Outside Devices Can Connect to Server
Please be aware that a port will need to be opened to your primary server computer so the Binfer server can connect to clients and outside devices. To confirm this connection, please install the server instance and follow the below connection verification instructions prior to installing any clients:
- To verify that outside devices can connect with the Binfer server, use the Binfer test URL.
- To access the “Test URL”, log into the Binfer management console. Go to “SETTINGS>NETWORK”.
- Copy the “Test URL” and paste it into your internet browser on an outside computer.
- You are good to proceed if you see text in the browser that says “Binfer is On” along with a time stamp. If you do not see this, your port is not open on the firewall.
